A few great shots for your Monday.

I especially liked Special’s shot of the rain because that’s exactly how it feels in San Francisco right now. Kristopher and I are both hanging out at his new place working and listening to sigur rós with a gentle comforting blanket of rain falling outside his window on the San Francisco Bay.
Carina has a great way to use portals. She does a photo a day and then uses portals in the upper right and left hand corner to portal you through to the previous or next day’s image. Click through on the image above and hover over the top corners of the shot to see what I mean. Very cool Carina… and thanks for the great grasshopper shot.
I also love seeing that Carina is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Seeing people all over the world share photos is amazing. Make sure that you fill in the city and country that you are from in your profile so that people can see where in the world you are when you comment on photos.

I just made kind of a fun Zooomr smartset. I made a set of photos with either the tags “me” or “selfportrait” and got back the following set of images. There are some really fun self portraits in here.
Photos clockwise starting in upper left: ropeboy, Nanda, Kristopher and abeliever13… I just had to put that one of Kristopher in there ![]()
Kris Krug has been a blogging and photographer friend for a while and so I was super happy to see him join Zooomr and put some of his work up on Zooomr. He’s got an amazing eye and produces some of the most stunning images I’ve seen. Feel free to stop by his photostream and say hello.

Earlier today I was reading Yuvi’s blog and got a pleasant surprise. Some of you may know Yuvi, others of you may not. Yuvi is an amazing self proclaimed, “15 year old wannabe geek from India.” He’s been doing some of the most detailed analysis on blog traffic that I’ve ever seen. Recently he’s been analyzing Robert Scoble’s blog and producing really great statistics. Super interesting new things that even Robert Scoble is learning about his blog.
And one of the most amazing parts of it all is that Yuvi is only 15 years old and doing this from India.
Well the surprise was today to see that Yuvi has decided to host his photos on Zooomr. Recently Yuvi put a post up in order to buy a Canon PowerShot S3 IS digital camera to take photos with and the world community of bloggers and readers was very supportive and donated enough money for Yuvi to get the camera. And so the world is now a more beautiful place because we all get to see it though Yuvi’s eyes and see one more part of this great big world that we all share. His photos, by the way, are superb. Check them out and be sure to leave some comments!
Thanks for choosing Zooomr Yuvi and I hope we can continue to live up to your expectations as we work hard to make Zooomr better and better.
Yuvi outlines some of the reasons why he is choosing Zooomr to host his photos below.
“And, I have decided to use Zooomr for hosting my pictures over Flickr. Why?
* The lone programmer there is just two years older than me! And, he was dablling in HTML when he was 5. Friggin cool.
* They give away free Pro accounts to bloggers. It’s good for a year, but I hope to be able to earn enough to buy my own Zooomr Pro account by then.
* The features rock! And, with just one person to convince, new features get in fast.
Oh, and all of them are licenced under a Creative Commons Attribution licence. Notice that it is Attribution only: You could do whatever the heck you want with it, but just gimme a link. Thank you!
Thanks, Dalmatica!
Thanks for the photos to mercho colay, Chris Sansbury and Icars. Thanks for making 2006 great and to an even better 2007.
