We’ve also set up a Pay Pal donate thing if people want to donate to help Zooomr.

Thanks all and see you in Mark III.

We Hear You China and Taiwan! This Post is For You!

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

Hey Friends! I’m really excited to be launching two new Zooomr Properties today — Zooomr Blog China (中文博客) and Zooomr Blog Taiwan (台湾博客)! These new blogs will be driven by our users in the region and have our blessing to talk about what’s important to our users and communities who reside in Asia and the Pacific Rim.

In October of last year, we launched Zooomr Taiwan and re-launched Zooomr China in Traditional and Simplified Chinese, respectively. The response was HUGE — and even this is an understatement of how successful we’ve been in Asia as a whole.

So, I’m happy to say that both Gem and Kingler have stepped up to the mark and will be the starting force behind these new blogs. I also want to send a special thank-you to 72Pines (七十二松) for their kind contribution in hosting these blogs regionally. :)

I would also like to start hosting blogs for our users in Japan, Korea, Germany and the Netherlands, among many more blogs! :)

We hear you guys and want to keep everyone in the loop. I especially feel bad for not being able to speak all of your wonderful languages — I only humbly speak English and Japanese for now, so please help me in extending the spirit of Zooomr out to your respective communities.

With continued love and respect,

-kristopher

Zooomr Mark III: What Happened

Monday, April 9th, 2007

Hey Friends, I’m back from Japan and on my way back to San Francisco! Many of you have wondered why the Zooomr Mark III Release has been delayed and it simply has to do with a 3rd Party Storage Provider being too slow for our liking and ultimately its sluggish response times. The extra time has been spent scaling our in-house infrastructure and recoding ZM3 to use our in-house storage engine, the “ZMD”. :)

Anyhoo, I’m on my way back to San Francisco right now and will continue to update you as it comes. Please remember that we have introduced UNLIMITED Upload, Archival and storage for your photos — forever! We believe in you guys.

With continued love and respect,

-Kristopher

ZM3 Sneak Peak: Enhanced Lightbox

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

Hey Friends! I know that for some of you, not seeing Mark III yet has been pretty unbearable — trust me, it’s been hard not to see it launch quite yet.

So, as I work on the issues postponing our release, I want to take some of the time to show you sneak peaks into what I’ve been working on for the last six months: first stop, enhanced lightbox!

Lightbox functionality has been one of our strongest features as it allows you to view a larger version of a photograph from the thumbnail view. Our enhanced lightbox now allows you to finally view your photos as a slide show — check-out the video above to see it in action!

Thanks to all who send their love and support — it’s been a hard last few days and your support has been most of what I’ve been working off of. Thank-you.

I’m going to get back to it. :)

With continued love and respect,

-Kristopher

Zooomr Mark III: Update Five! (A Must Read)

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

Hey Friends! I’m still trekking through the Mark III release cycle over here with Resident British Guy Ben Metcalfe.

To keep everyone happy and continually uploading images, we’ve opted to put Zooomr Release Two back up temporarily for a few days while we get all of these Mark III bugs worked out of our system. :)

But, if that weren’t enough, I’m going to drop ALL LIMITS on uploading, storing and archiving the world’s photos. We believe in you guys!

So, with all of that said, expect to see Release Two back up by 9pm PDT.

With continued Love and Respect,

-Kristopher
