Lauching Zooomr Mark III

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Zooomr is off line right now while we make the transition from Zooomr V2 to Zooomr Mark III. We think it’s probably 12-24 hours until launch. Thanks for all your support! If you want to watch the launch live, you can do it here at UStream.

We’ve also set up a Pay Pal donate thing if people want to donate to help Zooomr.

Thanks all and see you in Mark III.

Zooomr Mark III: What Happened

Monday, April 9th, 2007

Hey Friends, I’m back from Japan and on my way back to San Francisco! Many of you have wondered why the Zooomr Mark III Release has been delayed and it simply has to do with a 3rd Party Storage Provider being too slow for our liking and ultimately its sluggish response times. The extra time has been spent scaling our in-house infrastructure and recoding ZM3 to use our in-house storage engine, the “ZMD”. :)

Anyhoo, I’m on my way back to San Francisco right now and will continue to update you as it comes. Please remember that we have introduced UNLIMITED Upload, Archival and storage for your photos — forever! We believe in you guys.

With continued love and respect,

-Kristopher

僕は今日本にいます!(I’m here in Japan!) [UPDATED DATE!]

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

Hey my Japanese friends, I’m currently in Shinagawa right now at the Shinigawa Prince Hotel (品川プリンスホテル 港区高輪4丁目10−30) for two nights and wanted to know if any Zooomr users from Japan might be able to come out tomorrow (4月6日(金)) < -- Correction! ???

Please let me know in the comments below or call my room at the hotel (電話番号 03-3440-1111 部屋番号 3-1125) — I have limited Internet access here in Shinagawa, so calling the hotel and leaving me a message would be awesome (日本語でもOKですよ :) ).

With love,

Looking for a Video-Based Zooomr?

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007
College Humor's Jakob LodwickCollege Humor’s Jakob Lodwick Hosted on Zooomr

While we’re still undecided on if Zooomr should have video functionality, there are some pretty clever video sharing applications to try out there.

Lately, you may have seen me post videos from my newly created Vimeo account — and let it be known that I couldn’t be happier with the service. :)

Thomas Hawk and myself had the pleasure of meeting one of its creators (Jakob Lodwick, above) recently, which makes it even more special.

While sites like YouTube do a good job with video hosting and services, it’s always refreshing to see developing competition that goes well beyond the mark.

If you get a chance, check-out Vimeo and give it a whirl — not only is it promising, it also delivers.

Enjoy,

-Kristopher

What? More video interviews of Kristopher?

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

Friends! It seems like there’s a lot of retroactive videos from people who have interviewed me — this one is from the folks over at Travelistic taken during CES 2007. It also includes some footage of the Seagate Sponsored PodTech BlogHaus. Please watch it and enjoy.

Thanks to Jeremiah Owyang for reminding me about this video
