Just a reminder that a few of us are getting together tonight to do a little photowalking out at the Sutro Baths and in the Castro District in San Francisco. Details here. Also more congratulations to Robert and Maryam Scoble. I got to spend a bit of time with Robert and Milan yesterday afternoon. Milan is a healthy, happy, alert baby. Maryam is still recovering. You can check out some more photos of Milan here.

Just a note this morning that the crazy llama that attacked that woman in Oregon is *not our llama*. Thanks Kreg.

Photowalk Santa Barbara Next Sunday Afternoon

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

Photowalking.org Santa Barbara Photowalk So in addition to our San Francisco Photowalk next Saturday night, Trevor Carpenter is hosting a photowalk on Sunday, September 16th.

People are going to meet at 4pm Sunday afternoon downtown on State Street in Santa Barbara.

Among other things, they are going to shoot:

* The Pier
* State Street, lots of people (some weird one’s too)
* Santa Barbara Mission
* The downtown Santa Barbara Courthouse, built in 1929
* The waterfront & harbor
* El Presidio de Santa Barbara, built in 1782 as a Spanish military fortress

You can check out the upcoming.org page for this event here.

By the way, Trevor is helping to organize a Photo Summit in San Francisco. Probably in January. More details to follow on that later.

Photowalking Next Saturday Night in San Francisco

All Things Alright

So this isn’t an official Podtech Photowalking video shoot or anything, but Jeff Grosse and some of his friends from Sweden are coming into town next weekend and we are going to go do some night shooting. We’ve got a great night of shooting planned.

We are going to start out at Sutro Baths next Saturday night, September 15th, at 6pm. We can shoot the sunset from there and the ruins at the bath. After we are done there we are going to drive over to West Portal and park. The West Portal Muni station is a grand one and you get great views of the subway tunnel there, so we’ll shoot there for a bit and then take the train a few short stops down to the Castro where we will shoot the Castro for the rest of the night.

We can then take the train back to West Portal when we are done shooting the Castro.

I haven’t shot the Castro in a long time so I’m looking forward to that.

Anyways, if you can make it, come on out and shoot with us. It will be a great night. I’ve got an upcoming.org page set up for the shoot here if you want to check in.

The photo above of the Sutro Baths was taken by Matt Roe. To see more great shots of the Sutro Baths, check out the Sutro Baths tag on Zooomr.

Zooomr Adds People Search

Well I’m pleased to say that Kristopher just IM’d me from Japan and just pushed People Search on Zooomr. With Zooomr People Search you can now search by either email or name to find your friends on Zooomr. This should make it much easier for you to connect to others using Zooomr.

To search for someone on Zooomr just go to this link here.

Look for more enhancements to people search in the near future on Zooomr.

Nice work Kristopher!

Zooomr Integration in Pownce

Woah! My Pownce stream just got a whole lot prettier. Pownce just announced that they’ve added embedded video and photos into their service and for photos it’s easy to add your Zooomr thumbnails. To add a Zooomr thumbnail to your Pownce stream you just add the link to the url of your photo under the “link” feature on Pownce. It looks pretty awesome!

To see some photos in my Pownce stream check out my Pownce page here.

Thanks to Leah, Daniel and the whole team at Pownce.

There is a Pownce discussion group on Zooomr if you want to check it out here.
