Traditional and Simplified Chinese Back Online

storm clouds rising

Well I’m happy to report that yesterday Kristopher was able to get both Traditional and Simplified Chinese Zooomr translations back online. Kristopher is heading back up from San Diego today and hopefully will be able to continue adding features back into Zooomr once he’s back at ZooomrHQ. We have a lot of work to get all of the important features back into Zooomr including getting the rest of our translations back online. We will work hard to continue improving Zooomr and you should begin to see daily improvements and feature relaunches beginning next week.

Thanks to all for the support.

    Hey Thomas

I’m confused as to why features are being added when stability seems the weak point of the platform?

I would forgo RSS, adding photos to groups and a multitude of features if I could just stop getting the “500 Server Error” and “404 Not Found” HTTP errors all day.

Hi Ray, we are most definitely working on the site stability as well. We hope to be able to debug more of this in the next few days and get the site up to where it needs to be in terms of reliability and service.

This is, in fact, our number one priority at the present time.

Guys, let’s get moving now. I think this whole Mark III story, despite the interesting reality show, is just amateurish.
    get real. I mean it

I’ve been expecting a lot from zooomr. “Flickr on steroid” they said. yeah right. for a moment. the booozr is not quite on par. flickr learned. flickr improved. thanks. now zoomr is a wreck. Doesn’t matter how genius mister K is. if you can get vc money. just hire talent. not that difficult. don’t think that david can beat goliath in the long run.

The Fan Mail (ZMail) doesn’t update the messages as read (as in past tense) after they have been opened.

Smartsets should be coming back soon. Expect frequent improvements as features are added back to zooomr and speed, service and stability improves.

Me thinks: Why did you release M3 if it is not ready? 9 months in the making and all we see is features of the previous release missing? Forget about the scalability issues which obviously you did not have experience with and after all it is much bigger than you ever thought.

I believed that you would have tested this thing in sandbox before releasing it! I am not talking about 1 or 2 features missing but a lot more! First and foremost all photos are open to theft, how do you find time to enable the translations? Do you find translations more crucial?

I just wanted to express myself! :-)

  20. Carlos Says:

K & T, keep the hard work, almost there, closer and closer!

    thanks so much

Cgavos. We have disabled larger size viewing on photos except for owners until we can get a better handle on this. We are working very hard to get all issues up to where they need to be.

Hey Thomas I gather you fixed this recently! Thanks for fixing this guys cause it was a big worry!

  23. mmenchu Says:

Thomas, When are you guys expecting to release the Zooomr API? I would imagine that at a time like this when K is very busy, releasing an API for third parties to develop would be a priority. Thanks

    Hey guys,
just noticed when I upload photos they’re getting flagged as “Private” even when I flag them on the upload as “Public” and I can’t seem to get the setting to change.
apart from that… really glad to see it back on track ;)
Also, tried to get my wife to sign up for a new account, but… no error just wouldn’t let her submit the form :(
