System Down During Upgrade
by Thomas Hawk | 5 June 2007 | General | 29 Comments
Hey everyone. Zooomr’s down for an upgrade to the system to hopefully improve service on Mark III. The upgrade has actually had a few kinks and unfortunately it looks like Kristopher has to go down to the data center to get things back up online again. Bear with us and we’ll report back when we know more.
Ustream and chat room are here if you have more questions or want to hang out with us while we get this fixed.
Update: System is up and running and back online.

Noooooooooooooo! Hope it turns out well.
Zooomr is kinky. I like!
Heh. Again!?
Patrick,
hahaha, kinky
I’m not Patrick. We just happened to both post during the same minute.
Feels good to be a part of a service, for first time, which keeps going up and down :).
Waiting for Zooomr to be up.
Best Wishes
May the ever blessed service of Zooomr (not Flickr!) maintain it’s Yin Yang of the up down for our lessons!
It is my honor to wait for you to restore service.
hmmm, I’m surprised at just how addicted to Zipline I have become…
You’re doing great guys, thanks again!
*stumbles off to find something else to stare at for hours*
OMG.
Kris cannot do everything by himself!
Do you need help?
kris, that’s what I call multitasking! good luck! (Patrick: kinky ?)
I guess its up? =D
Unfortunately I’ve lost faith in Zooomr.
I’ll continue to monitor it’s progress and maybe upload photos from time to time, but the website as is, and has been for several weeks now, it’s in no shape to be launched for public use. I’ve grown tired with all the delays and hickups.
Good luck to you both Kris and Thomas and to the Zooomr comunity; I’m moving to a more stable and predictable place.
I’m sorry to hear your decision Adrian, and it’s ironic that you should make it just when the initial Mark III problems seem to have been overcome. The site is working beautifully at the moment, and is demonstrating why it’s so much better than any other that I’ve found. The user interface is a really clean and functional design, and I love it compared to anything else I’ve seen.
Why can’t I register?
Strange, I see a crippled MIII version with a lot of features missing even from Z2, not event the SmartSets are working as they should.
I’ve waited a long time to see bugs from Z2 fixed in MIII and improvements, and all I get is a buggy MIII with missing features and a promise.
My opinion is that it will take a long time for MIII to actually be what is was promised, and still, the competition will be farther ahead by then.
We’ll see…, if in a couple of months things look better, maybe I’ll change my mind.
StevieB is correct, right now the UI is etxremely clean and simple, there’s nothing else but the “500 - Internal Server Error” message
How many people is working??
There is only 2. How fast do you want bugs to be squashed???
YS, for this amount of bugs: prior to release.
I still cannot see my home page.
Everytime I click on the you or anything besides zipline after logging in i get a page not found page. Ive alreaddy emailed them with my problem but its been days and I still see the same thing. Any body know whats wrong?
my page is
http://beta.zooomr.com/photos/FaceStudios/
I can see the home page, but every time I try to log in (I’m using openid) I get an internal server error.
Is this just me?
Is it back down again? I’ve been logged out several times today and get “500 - Internal Server Error” when trying to log in.
I like the upgrade (mostly), hopefully the jitters get ironed out soon.
Derek,
read http://blog.zooomr.com/2007/06/03/zoho-wiki/, question numero 7.
It’s hard to unite the world, even if it’s an inch at a time, if the site is down all the time.
Kris, you have had tons of offers from folks in the chat room to help with the technical side of things. Let them help! Bring a few people on board, get ‘em up to speed, and turn ‘em loose.
By it’s nature, Zooomr attracts technical folks. Take advantage of the fact that you have some of your biggest fans practically banging on your door to do FREE work for you to get Zooomr running.
Use the web to build the web.
jUploadr can not upload photos, when will it be ok?
gogogo,
take a look at http://juploadr.org/2007/06/05/zooomr-users/
When will my site be ok? Thanks
do you realize that your site is just a big bug?
I’ve been expecting a lot from zooomr. “Flickr on steroid” they said. yeah right. for a moment. the booozr is not quite on par. flickr learned. flickr improved. thanks. now zoomr is a wreck. Doesn’t matter how genius mister K is. if you can get vc money. just hire talent. not that difficult. don’t think that david can beat goliath in the long run.
how can you even ask to to vote for you now.
sympathy?
I sincerely hope you can make the leap.
Hello! Good Site! Thanks you! tpfyqlopzixqzu
