    THIS POST IS FAKE

    Hey Guys,

It’s 5am, and yes I am still very very close to releasing Malarkey 3.

But actually I’m not that close because the dog ate my homework so, you know, what, what can you do in, in a situation like that, you know, so, erm… well yeah, so maybe I’ll, I’ll just keep posting BS, and and and, you know, posting some, sexy video teasers whenever I feel, erm, a bit, horny, you know.

Anyways, I hope, erm, that, that compensates, for my professional, professional, attitude to the, promised, promised project?
No? Then, then maybe, maybe another video will? Or how about 2?

Yeah so, so if you were expecting this malarkey 3 stuff to be released soon, you know, online, try Fotki, yeah, I’ve, I’ve heard they’re gaining users by the day, or there’s, there’s also Picasa Web Albums, you know, they’re doing pretty good too.

Erm… Ok until the next teaser, BYE.

Oh, and it’s, it’s 6am, I’ve been up all night, working on malarkey 3, did I mention that? I haven’t been playing games and watching Family Guy, I’ve been working hard on the erm, getting the, the erm, the Fellangi’s of the, erm, servers installed, which were not, erm, supported, by the, the server people.

So ok, I’ll get on with this, and, erm, erm, you just, just keep, reading my blog, because, it’s, it’s very interesting, and, did I mention that, it’s, it’s available, in erm, in 7 languages, yeah, lucky you huh? Yeah you can, you can go ahead and read, read, this sort of stuff, like, everyday, from whichever part, of the world you are.

Ok, erm, peace, peace out guys. And keep reading my blog for any, any, erm, important, yes, very important, updates, to, to, to Zooomr.

Now it’s, it’s like, it’s 7am, and wow I’ve had no sleep, I’m going to go to sleep now k?

As an observer and casual user of both Zooomr and Flickr, I kind of have to agree with the spirit of ‘Kristopher’s’ comment from above. I have a hard time trying to place Zooomr in the same league as Flickr and SmugMug (in terms of performance, scheduled updates, downtime, and delivery of features). We are all awaiting M3 (it’s been a long wait since March), and today get an outage instead.

I really want Zooomr to succeed, but I think you guys need to start making good on your promises. And yes, when you are small, things are hard, but that excuse can only be repeated so many times before people start to lose interest.

In the end though, I do wish you guys luck…

    Still waiting for M3…

are you sure you’re not drunk in this video? drinking and driving is very bad, kris.

I like how at very end of the video, it sounds like you joined in and started singing along with the music.

Anyone else notice the Kris removed his post? Couldnt take the heat eh? Good thing you removed it, after reading it you had me thnking twice about entrusting zooomr with any data of mine at all… Grow up and run a business kris.

Haha, so it seems we have a Kristopher troll on the Zooomr blog.

    Welcome troll.

If this were some other photo sharing site your comments might have been permanently erased by now. Assuming they had a blog that allowed comments.

Hey Kris and Thomas. Good job putting that back up. I really respect your integrity.

  12. felipe said on 20 May 2007 at 2:06 am:

how can we help to zooomr?

is there a forum, to publish bugs?

i like to help you. this site is Beta, so i supouse that needs beta testers or not?

  13. Thomas Hawk said on 20 May 2007 at 9:58 am:

felipe, it doesn’t make much sense to report bugs right now because Kristopher is very close to our next release which will fix many of the bugs that people might report. It’s a whole new system and Zooomr built from the ground up.

Once we have Mark III live we will have a forum where users can get help and report bugs that Kristopher and I will both monitor.

Thanks for being part of Zooomr.

“We are all awaiting M3 (it’s been a long wait since March), and today get an outage instead.”

Because… you know. Hard Drives randomly breaking was TOTALLY what they would have wanted instead of a smooth night.

Now, if this were a “hang tight guys, we need to change something with M2″ then I’d agree with you, but for crying out loud, you think they /wanted/ broken drives?

Crimeny. Some people have no respect for the IT and Programming Industry.

I _work_ in IT, I’m a sysadmin. I have lots of respect for well run systems.

When can Zooomr support Chinese tags ?

  19. Rukasu said on 21 May 2007 at 2:23 am:

    It does already

  20. Jason said on 21 May 2007 at 6:50 am:

Now that I’m thinking with a clearer heard, I now understand the other meaning of Matt’s “today we get an outage instead” sentence.

I apologize for reacting the way I did; it’s just one of those sentences that can be taken two ways.

I don’t really know what else to say. I came to Zooomr late into the game. Once I actually started using it, M3 was (apparently) damn near done.

So, yes, it sucks that it didn’t come out in March, but would you have rather had a release that would have resulted in the site working absolutely horridly?

I think the Zooomr gang made the right decision, and refactoring their rollout plan is about all that could be done.
Better to depend on yourself for improvements than depend on others for something they may or may not do.

  21. Jason said on 21 May 2007 at 6:56 am:

    Clearer heard, heh. Whoops.

  22. Julie said on 21 May 2007 at 8:17 am:

Just saw your announcement. Wonderful news. Congratulations!

  23. John Rowlands said on 21 May 2007 at 10:54 am:

Hmm, maybe these are fake emails, but they have a point; where is Zooomr? It’s like a corporation caught in a disaster - everyone switches their mobile ‘phones off and silence rules.

Zooomr in concept is brilliant, as are the new services. Perhaps we’d be a bit more tolerant of service launches if we were kept informed? Friends and employees are useful to this end. Business is much more than a promise. It’s the delivery.
