Zooomr

Hi Friends! Today’s the day, we’re going to be launching Zooomr Mark III over the course of 48 Hours from 8am PDT March 13th, 2007 on through March 15th, 2007. Blogged photos will still be available the entire time.

Some brief highlights on Zooomr Mark III:

And if you think that’s great, just wait until we show you what Zipline is! :)

For both Thomas Hawk and myself, thank-you for making Zooomr what it is today — we’re here to serve you, our community, and look forward to improving how Photo Sharing helps the world communicate.

With Love,

Kristopher

    @Tom Raftery:

    I used a mass flickr exporter (just Google for “Flickr Exporter”) and then imported them using jUploadr to Zooomr, when I did it.

    I couldn’t find a good way to transport tags/etc, and unfortunately you’ll lose all your comments (it would be neat if Zooomr let you log in with your Flickr account: that way my Flickr friends could still comment on my photos on Zooomr. ;) ).

    Let me know if you find a better solution. :)

    We’ve got plans for this. Once we release our Open API on Thursday hopefully we can get a commercial API key from Flickr. They have indicated that when our API is open that they will provide this to us.

  39. eddie said on 13 Mar 2007 at 10:53 am:

    Better plan for import/export or for Flickrites to interact with Zooomr as if they were Zooomr citizenry?

    Also (whiny-kid-in-the-backseat-voice): is the migration donnnnnnne yet? :) I’m really eager to start playing. :)

    (Take your time. Still, I’m waiting with bated breath. ;) )

    I’m excited about the API linking with Flickr. If Zooomr had a way to migrate tags and photos from Flickr that would go a LONG way to getting people to switch over.

    I hope the migration goes well! I can’t wait to see the new MIII this weekend!
