Denial of Babes Attack [UPDATED]
Well folks, it seems like I’ve gone and inadvertently gotten our beloved Zooomr’s servers pounded (No pun intended
). I posted a set of images up on the “Babes of CES” that’s making it’s way around the Internet on some of the more popular sites out there… Kristopher and I are sitting here at Massimo Cafe in San Francisco working on getting things optimized and back up to the smooth running Zooomr that we all love so much.
Sorry about any inconveniences.
Thomas
UPDATE (13:10 PT) by Kristopher:
Hey friends, we were a little slow because I’ve been converting most of our infrastructure over to Mark III — but I’ve re-enabled Zooomr2 on some of the boxes and we’ve regained lots of our speed back.
At the cost of looking slow for a few weeks, I think everyone will be pleased with Mark III.
With love,
-Kristopher

Looking forward to the Mark III…any technicals details available on it? As for the babes of CES, are you sure they [the pics] are the cause or did you also post a picture of the iPhone?

Hi Kristopher
Tx for the update.
BTB is it a lesson learnt from Jobs - allowing the secrecy (of Mac III) to market for itself
Badly waiting for it.
Have a great day.

Am I the only one who can’t upload any photos?

My guess is that Zooomr Mark III will be great. Looking forward to the .gif support!
You’re doing a great job, Kristopher.

I can’t delete my sets, it gives me a 404 error. How can I do? Thanks.

I just wanted to update that I can see the change in speed right now.
It is pretty fast.

Hi guys, I seem to be having problems editing or deleting smartsets. I tried clicking on delete inside one of my smartsets but it gives me an “error/404″. Another thing is when I edit a smartset, instead of updating it, it just adds a new one. Can you shed some light on this? I’m really enjoying using zooomr more than flickr! Thanks and good work on the great service!!!

I’m experiencing upload issues as well. I get a 404 error after Zoomer accepts the photo. The bandwidth meter reflects the upload, but there’s no picture.
Bugs are part of the beta experience. Looking forward to Mark III.

Hey guys, the 404 when trying to delete a set is a known error that Kristopher is working on. Thanks for your patience.

Any chance of integrating usage of AssetPackager http://synthesis.sbecker.net/pages/asset_packager
or compressing the javascripts into one file? With all of the pulls from the same server the javascripts just take a long time to load.
