Zooomr Mark III : Open Letter to the World
Good-evening, everyone — It’s Kristopher.
Over the past 3-4 months, I’ve been working on extending Zooomr into an even more Universal website.
Today, the world is regionalized — From DVDs to Video Games and even photo sharing — the universal nature of photos is still locked-down to regions.
Now, the Web gives us an inspiring opportunity to change all of this and even though that may be so, many have still opted to regionalize these universal experiences. Experiences of birthdays, of children — friends and loved ones — even the ones that are almost out-of-this-world.
I started Zooomr a little more than a year ago to change all of this. I started Zooomr to help share my photos to my friends and family members around the world — and, thanks to this, many more have, as well.
Today, I’d like to take a moment to expand on this and offer a bit of direction into where we’re going with Zooomr. Simply put, we are going to become the photo sharing website and social community for the entire world.
“Wow, what a bold statement,” right? I’ve always pushed the envelope and I think it’s about time we pushed it even further.
As time quickly moves forward, the methods we will take to augment this bold statement will become much more clear under the name “Zooomr Mark III”.
In the end, Please be patient with us, but please do not hesitate to contribute. Zooomr is not great on its own — it’s all about our community — and that means people like you.
As Mark3 draws near, I will have much more information to share with you.

It’s always nice to get an update…especially when it’s news of a ‘version update’ of the site. Keep up the good work. Don’t forget to get some sleep, and drink plenty water.

Looks like a lot of work ahead by the sound of it Kris. Major upgrades in the internet world can be extremely stressful, having been through 3 and about to be involved in a 4th I can feel your pain.

It is really bad when you make statement like -

YOU URGENTLY NEED A USABILITY TEST.
I can help you with what i see but im no expert, for example, creating a new SmartSet can be as confusing as your first intercourse with an alien.
Secondly, please. PLEASE, dont just copy flickr, IMPROVE upon them.

Let us see what Mark III brings, Wally. I’m quite sure some innovations are introducesd. I believe they read the comments. I have found Thomas Hawk’s replies to questions multiple times. We could use a reply now, I’m still wondering what that outage was caused by.

I agree, some explanations for things…Like when geotagging what do the different colors signify, I’ve been using Zooomr for 5 months and I still have no clue what each means, and I like the idea of smartset instructions…but looking forward to what unveiled

@rukasa- Te colored dots (when checked ON) will indicate whose photos to show when viewing the TagMap.
RED - Everyone’s
GREEN - Your’s
BLUE - Your Social Circle’s
Check them on and off to show/hide the ones you do or don’t want to see.
