Using SmartSets to Find Great Photos on Zooomr
One of the things that I like to do is play around with different SmartSets to find cool and interesting photos on Zooomr. We are going to be adding favourites as a SmartSet criteria here shortly, but in the meantime I’m using views as a gauge of sorts. Today, for instance, I created a SmartSet using the following criteria: show me any photos where tag matches bw or neon with 10 views or more. You can see the set here and see how I edited it. I particularly like black and white photos and photos of neon, which is why I used those tags.
So this SmartSet pulled up a bunch of really cool images for me and one of my favorites was this one by dawn m. armfield. But while exploring that shot I found the shot above which I loved even more and thought I’d post up on the Zooomr blog today. Thanks for sharing your great work Dawn.
SmartSets can be used not just for your own work but can be used to filter great work by others. Do you have any favorite SmartSet combinations that you’ve created to find great photos? Do you have any particular tag/view combinations that have pulled up some great phtography? If so post a comment I’d love to check them out.
In addition to adding favorites to SmartSets we are going to page SmartSets to allow you more than 175 photos in a set going forward. This will be coming with our next major release for Zooomr. We are taking a little more time with our next release but it will be worth it. I’m sure you’ll hear more from Kristopher on that in the coming days.

Excellent, thanks for the update on Zooomr progress Thomas. Glad to hear things are moving along, not that I EVER doubted things were slowing down!
Can’t wait to see what’s coming down the pipeline!!

I also love the smartset feature, it is very powerful, and including favorites in the mix is very nice. Maybe a possibility to have nicer urls based on the name would also be nicer for sharing purposes.

Wow, I’m amazed to see that many of my photos in your faves. Great, thanks a bunch. You should check out my sagrada Familia smartset. b/w photos.
Zooomr is the reason I go out with my camera in the morning

I wouldn’t like nicer URLs based on the name, cause that would screw up all the referring links of old smartsets. Would have liked if it had been like that from the start though.

Hi, I am a Chinese user and it seems that I can’t use Chinese tag to set my Smartset. May you improve this function? Thanks.

I am confused: Sometimes smart sets just don’t do what they are supposed to do. I created one earlier that filtered for the tag “sanfrancisco” and owner myself (”wenzel”), but I get an empty set as a result. I have no clue whatsoever how to fix that. Is that a bug?
Also, I did not get any results when putting more than one tag into the tag search box of the smart set generator.

I’ve noticed that I can’t delete a smartset that I’ve created for error.
Someone else has noticed this problem?
Thank you so much

Same problem with smartsets, have tested and now cannot delete them anymore :).

I can’t delete empty smartsets either, and I am having the exact same problem as Fred.
I now have a huge line-up of empty smartsets that I cannot delete, and it’s annoying.

I also notice that when you try and edit the empty smartsets or add to existing sets, it goes and creates another set instead.
This is getting frustrating.

Hola de parte de parejaspareja.es, encontre tu blog navegando por la red buscando sagrada familia en google. Me parece super interesante la información que tienes en tu blog y sin lugar a dudas regresare a leerlo. Tengo una pregunta, si podria traducir tu blog “Official Zooomr Blog » Blog Archive » Using SmartSets to Find Great Photos on Zooomr” y aƱadirlos a un de mis blogs en italiano? Y por supuesto con el link direccionando a tu blog. Estare esperando tu respuesta. parejaspareja.es
