Remove GeotagsRemove Geotags Hosted on Zooomr

Thanks to cmiper for building this helpful screen shot to show how to delete a geotag in Zooomr. Every so often people ask how can they can delete a geotag when they’ve put it in the wrong spot and want to retag it. If you click through the screen shot above cmiper documents how to do this with four notes on his image. A useful and helpful explanation. Thanks cmiper!

Dogs vs. Cats on Zooomr

BlahBlah Hosted on Zooomr

Blah by Eoban Binder.

One of my favorite things to do on Zooomr is to play around with various combinations of SmartSets. With SmartSets you can think of all kinds of different and fun ways to slice and dice the photos on Zooomr to find interesting photos that you’d like to see. Today for example I created two SmartSets. “Dogs that have been viewed 50 times or more on Zooomr” and “Cats that have been viewed 50 times or more on Zooomr.” These SmartSets include everyone on Zooomr not just me. Although if I wanted to refine it to just me I could do that too. The number of photos in these sets will change as more photos are added as well. SmartSets are dynamic this way which is really cool.

So do you think that there are more cats or dogs on Zooomr that have been viewed 50 times or more? If you said cat you’re right. At present there are 148 cat shots that have been viewed 50 times or more vs. 102 dogs. Personally I’m more of a dog person (I’ve got two black labs myself) but sometimes you just have to give the cat his/her due.

SmartSets of course are not limited to cats and dogs. You can make them with your photos or with everyone’s photos and make them using all kinds of different critera. At present SmartSets are limited to 175 photos, but we will be expanding that in the future.

To build a SmartSet just click on the “Build a SmartSet” Link under the “Things to Do” headline on your main photo page. Do you have a really cool SmartSet? Tell us what it is and leave a link to it in the comments.

Where in the World Are You Zoooming From

Where in the World Are You Zoooming FromWhere in the World Are You Zoooming From Hosted on Zooomr

I thought I’d take a minute to share with you all where the traffic to Zooomr is coming from in the world. One of the things that we are trying to do at Zooomr is to become the first truly international photo sharing site. Whether our support of Google Maps for geotagging or the fact that we are localized in 17 different languages, it is our hope that our users will be able to have a truly international experience.

The dots above represent the hottest places that Google Analytics tells us our traffic is coming from.

At present Beijing is increasingly becoming our largest referrer of traffic. As you will see from the image above though, our traffic is actually pretty evenly distributed internationally. As photos are indeed universal we hope that you all will benefit from a more international flavor of photography available through Zooomr. Thanks for Zoooming and be sure to let us know where in the world you are zoooming from today.
