System Status: Upgrade Notices
Hey Everyone, I’m back at our colo adding more servers, storage and subsequently more networking to handle the new goodies. So, I might have to disconnect some boxes and add them to the new network here… Starting at 17:30 PDT (GMT-8) we will be going offline for approximately an hour at most.
With love,
-Kristopher
UPDATE 17:37 PDT (GMT-8): Great news, Everyone! Only 7 minutes instead of one hour! Haha, cool.

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but things are running a little quick for me here tonight.

Specifically what kind of servers did you add? Memcached, mysql?
Anyway, keep up the great work.

Will the photos lost in the down-time be up at all, or should I re-upload them?

Dan, we are still working on the drives and have sent them off for recovery. But your best bet is to reupload them if you can. We are also working on a “replace this” feature where photos that are there just not in all sizes can be replaced without losing comments, etc.
We will keep you posted as we know more.
It’s 11pm PST and Kristopher and I are still here at the server farm. We went from 3 servers to 4 servers and hope to add a 5th one on tomorrow. We are building the servers (or should I say Kristopher is building) the servers ourselves. It was kind of fun buying 3 more terrabytes on sale from Fry’s today.

Today I see I lost some off my pictures… what happened. Yesterday they were there.

Mixed results here, I am guessing there is some migrating of data to the new servers that hasn’t completed at this point? Looks like some older stuff is visible, while some newer stuff is not, but if you upload something now it’s there.
