My Favourite Design Tool

Lots of people ask me what my favourite tool is when building websites and my reply is always “Pencil & Paper.” To me, there’s just something about the nature of paper and the degrees of creativity that a pencil can merit. Sure, here at Zooomr we have software that helps us track features and issues, but lots of work still goes through my trusty Japanese import Pentel Graphlet buddies.
The sad thing is that I had to replace my PG509 today because I lost it after almost 11 months of service! It will be missed.
So, what kind of design tools excite you guys?

where did you get those pencils?
i mean is there anywhere online to order them?
There’s a Japanese store near my place that imports them for me — You could try online stores, though.

The Post-it note.
Gareth, how do you use the post-its specifically?
I use A4 paper sheets as mousepads, on which I usually mark down everything I need with one of the 65 extremely cheap pens I bought from a discount. If the sheet gets filled I just turn the other side or take a new one
Currently I can see some song lyrics, foreign words, calculations, drawings and designs of some names. Also these patterns I unintentionally make when i’m on the phone or thinking.
I got three of ‘em, PG503,505 & 509 too! It has brown, black and yellow head.
However I have not used them recently. I use the cheap ball-point pen, such as Bic. U-uum. Why?
Probably I think it’s due to preferring its unerasablity & uncorrectablity.
anyone know any online stores with these slick pencils on em?
Taavi, that’s pretty awesome — do you use optical mice, though? If so, how does that work-out?
Yanz-san, very cool that you also have some. How does the 505 handle? I don’t know what I would do without these tools.

Of course optical, and absolutely no problem. Runs really smooth and jerklessly. I’ve got a cheap microsoft mouse here (and now). But when I roll off the sheet onto the table, that’s where the problems start
paper and pen. trusty as ever. whatever i can find usually. No need for expensive stuff here
and unintentional doodle everywhere…
