Hey Everyone! It’s been awhile since I’ve posted to the blog, which means that I’ve been busy with some good stuff for you.

“Good stuff?“, you ask? Yep, something good called Zooomr 2 + Community.

Many of you were wondering why Zooomr 2.0 just didn’t have community features — in fact, most of you wrote-in to say

“Hey, why does it seem like Zooomr 2 was supposed to have community features. It feels like they should be there.“

Well, many of you were right. After the DDoS attacks that crippled our launch day, I felt it necessary to strip-out some of our features to see how the others fared — and boy did they fare well!

Anyway, just know that the awesome features are still coming by the truck-loads, and that we’ve got you guys in mind.

Also, please remember to share the love by telling your friends about our free 2.5GB Pro Accounts for bloggers.

There is a band that goes on there at 8pm and we can stick around and watch that or head out and about for a little night shooting depending on what everyone feels like. So bring your camera, your lenses, your tripod, your laptop and anything else you’d like to share and come on out for a drink/shoot. Hopefully we will also be able to show you some of the cool new community stuff that we’re working on for Zooomr right now.

A few days back we profiled the photography of Kris Kros here on the Zooomr Blog. Kris is an amazing photographer who is producing some of the finest post processed images around today. Well today we are glad to congratulate Kris on some well deserved press in The New York Times. The Times profiled him today. Nice work Joe!

All Public Zooomr Photos With Over 1,000 Views Hosted on Zooomr

Would you like to see a set of all public shots on Zooomr that have over 1,000 views? Easy, you can just build a SmartSet for that. I built one for that right here. You build SmartSets from your main photo page and can use both yours and others photos to slice and dice the photos on Zooomr in many different ways. And even more ways coming shortly. Feel free to build your own SmartSet based on tags, views, owner, or whatever and post it in the comment section of this post. Oh, and if you want to see all of my shots that so far have gotten over 100 views you can click through here.

Also SmartSets update automatically — which means that anytime a public photo on Zooomr crosses the 1,000 view mark it will automatically be added to my SmartSet I created and anytime any photo of mine crosses the 100 view mark it will automatically be added to my personal photos of 100 or more views.
