Well, it’s Friday and Fridays are all about fun, so what better photo than “receipe for fun,” by jpg house. The Portals on this photo are fantastic and we just couldn’t resist sharing it. Go ahead, click through on the photo. You know you want to.

    I’ve been thinking that the Discovery feature and SmartSets are very similar and they could share the same “under-the-hood” mechanism. Of course, for this to work properly you would need to add extra filters to SmartSets. For example:

    * portal related filters: number of portals (works like Views: set to “not 0″ to get photos with portals); or destinations (works like GeoTags: destination within x miles of …)
    * comment related filters: number of comments (works like Views); comments from ….
    * GeoTags (and similarly-behaved filters) could be improved by asking for a radius around the center (or is this set by the google map zoom when creating/editing the set?)

    Once these features are added to SmartSet, Discover could be enhanced by making it use the same mechanism (with the toolbar providing the default searches it provides already)

    Oblomov. Those are great ideas and we will look at them. We *definitely* want people to be able to use SmartSets to really slice and dice and filter Zooomr photos in almost any way that the mind can imagine. Love the way you think man!

    Comments 8 to 14 are all about making SmartSets even smarter. Hope that some of it will be available, soon.

    Posted it before as well. I’m a noob at photo sharing apps. It would really help if you could have a help document to work through the features and everything on zooomr.

    Any updates on jUploader and Zooomr badges (flickr kinda things)?

    Hey, I’ve got a question about zooomrtations..

    If I put something like let’s say Eminem there..Will I or maybe the site get sued? Basicly the question is: what am I allowed to put there and what not?

    Talking of Smartsets - my “Sets” view is messed up. If you look here: http://beta.zooomr.com/photos/brianandlorna/sets
    you will see that all of the thumbnails are out by one (they have the set before them in the list) They are OK on the main Photo’s page.

    Ooh! just been playing around with the Portals - fantastic. A couple of suggstions:
    1) The ability to portal through to someone elses photos - would allow collabarative work.
    2) Ability to link to Zoomrtations sound snippets and/or other media.

    the portal feature is nice - but when are you bringing up the API? I wrote you about 10 days ago an email, and Kristopher replied to me that the api will be available from last week on?

    Any update, how long have we still to wait?

    hmorandell, the API is pretty much done we just need to finish the documentation for it and are hoping to have it out soon.

    Oblomov, we are also working on a permanent log on.
