Here we go again!
Hey Everyone! It’s been awhile since I’ve posted to the blog, which means that I’ve been busy with some good stuff for you.
“Good stuff?“, you ask? Yep, something good called Zooomr 2 + Community.
Many of you were wondering why Zooomr 2.0 just didn’t have community features — in fact, most of you wrote-in to say
“Hey, why does it seem like Zooomr 2 was supposed to have community features. It feels like they should be there.“
Well, many of you were right. After the DDoS attacks that crippled our launch day, I felt it necessary to strip-out some of our features to see how the others fared — and boy did they fare well!
Anyway, just know that the awesome features are still coming by the truck-loads, and that we’ve got you guys in mind.
Also, please remember to share the love by telling your friends about our free 2.5GB Pro Accounts for bloggers.
As I get back to work, here’s a well executed video of OK Go performing to their Here it Goes Again.
Enjoy,
Kristopher Tate

Speaking of which: is there a public bug tracker or some other controlled means of getting bug reports to you guys? Or do you want us users to just fire emails in your direction?
I have some little things which bug me somewhat…

herrmueller,
You can email us at zfeedback@bbridgetech.com. We’re working to get a form mailer for this address up soon.
Thanks,

How can I make selected photos private or public whenever I feel like doing so? This is an important and basic feature. I see the option only during uploading photos.
Otherwise great stuff.

Is there any news on some kind of uploader?? similar to the flickr one? I would like to take advantage of my Pro account but without easy uploading for lots of photos I’m somewhat reluctant!!

Hey Phil — We’re beta testing one right now. I understand how slow it must be uploading from the site, but keep in mind that we’re working on bettering the upload experience with apps, both mobile and desktop.

Christopher, when is the import from flickr going to be ready. I’m assuming that you got this ironed out with flickr!

It’s always great to hear about more feature updates. Any ETA on the rollout of all that community-goodness?
I will love to get a sneak peak here on the blog!

Also any word about a dynamic ‘Popular Tags’ page?, since that page is only a copy of the one at Flickr.

Feature Requests
1. Zooomr Badges (like FlickR Badges)
2. Add Photo to My Photos features. There are awesome photos out there that you just want to add to your selection of photos.
3. A simple Forum or Bug Tracker
4. Import from FlickR sounds nice, but they’re demanding access to your API and I KNOW THEY’LL DESTROY IT ON PURPOSE SO DON’T GIVE IT TO THEM. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE KIND OF IDIOTS THEY ARE AT YAHOO. JUST CHECK THIS OUT

Hi. Great news here… but something is lost. The Privacy Setting for photos just doesn’t works. Everybody can see the private pictures going to the profile and clicking on the inspector and then on the magnifying glass.
Any suggestion?
Thanks.

Still no mention of the login troubles… At least there’s an email address to report bugs now.

Have you thought of beefing up your email upload feature, perhaps using or extending on Flickrs?
I personally haven’t moved over here as I plan to use photo uploading as my ISP is counting our upload but doesn’t count email usage.
Just a thought.

We still can’t put special characters (ñáéíóú) in the tags. And the Spanish translation needs to improve MUCH. I offered myself as a voluntary, but got no reply…

@martin : it’s the same in France for the éèùàç !
Carry on guys !

I am quite liking Zoomr so far, though it’s clearly not an entirely finished work. What’s here is very functional, though.
bhadra already asked what’s on my mind, so this is just reinforcement– If I decide that I want to change some of my ‘private’ pictures to ‘public’, there really ought to be a simpler way than having to delete them all and upload them again in order to make the change. So far I can’t find any other way! I hope there’s a solution to this coming?
Thanks!

Kirstopher, the proitizer still fails to recognize the URL to my blog post as containing valid Zooomr photos:
http://oblomov.ilcannocchiale.it/?id_blogdoc=1084413
Could you please see if this can be fixed?
August 10th, 2006 at 10:53 am
Oblomov, this is just a guess, but try putting this into the proitizer: http://www.ilcannocchiale.it/blogs/style/autumn/dettaglio.asp?id_blog=3221&id_blogdoc=1084413
I think it has something to do with your frames

I had tried that too (I think I mentioned that in the past): it still fails. The developers are now looking into it

Hi.
I wrote a short review out of user’s (and user interface designer’s) view on my http://interfacedropbox.blogspot.com
Feedback is welcome

My biggest request is a general batch edit. It’d be great to be able to batch edit tags, for example, and changing the copyright license on each photo one by one is more than a little tedious. I’s also like the option for some loose organizational structure - tag groups a la delicious would be nice. Thanks, and you all have done some incredible work thusfar!

Becoming A Home Inspector: What the Home Inspection Schools Won't Tell You…
Chances are if you’re reading this you’ve thought about becoming a home inspector. You may have even seen the ads that say you can make hundreds of dollars a day as a home inspector. Home inspection schools put many of these ads out. They paint a ros…
