    “Classic” - :D thanks… sadly a following shot wasn´t possible, i had to run.

Is it just me - could it be that i´m not able to comment some photos? “Error Sorry, an error occurred. Please try again later.” - Only some photos, but then everytime i try (http://beta.zooomr.com/photos/11241@Z01/69184/ for example)

Woo, since digiKam automatically puts tags and comments into EXIF and IPTC, all my uploads from digiKam will be done for me. sweet :)

Quick Q — Is there a reason why I can have only 50 photos in a set?

  11. mwyc said on 22 Jul 2006 at 11:49 am:

u guys do a greate job.

But it seem that some problems in the smartset, i mean the smartset does not sort the photos correctly, especialy the datetaken and uploaddate.

  12. Jason said on 22 Jul 2006 at 12:22 pm:

Login is working just fine again. Thanks for all the hard work!

  13. Duncan Hill said on 22 Jul 2006 at 12:33 pm:

Just FYI, in contrast to Jason, the typekey openid login still doesn’t like me.

  14. Allen said on 22 Jul 2006 at 12:59 pm:

Is this update out yet? I think it’s past 10:00 am PDT, but I’m still seeing the changes.

  15. Spinfist said on 22 Jul 2006 at 1:09 pm:

14:00PDT, here. I logged in to my OpenID account to check it out, nothing changed. Figure I’ll log out and into my old Gmail account and see if the merge works now. I logout and get this error: http://www.ryanwelsh.net/images/zooomrlogouterror072206.png

I shut down my browser and started it back up, that seems to work ok to get me logged out.

I assume the update isn’t live yet? I’ll hold off trying to merge until then.

I forgot to mention that the Zooomr thingy on my GoogleIG homepage has been prompting for a Zooomr Sandbox login when I hit my homepage. Tries asking three times then gives up.

  17. Kristopher Tate said on 22 Jul 2006 at 1:25 pm:

Spinfist, I just fixed that — sorry.

    -Kristopher

  18. Spinfist said on 22 Jul 2006 at 1:38 pm:

Don’t be. :-) Fixed which part though? The google element or the logout issues?

  19. Sohil said on 22 Jul 2006 at 1:39 pm:

    Yipeeeeee.

    It’s working.

    Thanks Kris.

  20. Kristopher Tate said on 22 Jul 2006 at 1:40 pm:

The logout issue was fixed with the update and the google element was just fixed.

  21. Spinfist said on 22 Jul 2006 at 2:09 pm:

    Kris,

The merge system is behaving the same way it has since I tried right after 2.0 launch. I log in with my Google credentials to start the merge, I’m then prompted to enter my OpenID credentials, and I’m just taken into my OpenID account. No merge occurs. I can still look for for old GeoTagged photos in my old hometown, and they show up as a user I can’t access.

All the details from our email correspondence appears to be holding fast.

  22. Michele said on 22 Jul 2006 at 2:18 pm:

Guys, you are making a very good work! I only would like to get flock could upload photos on zooomr! After that I really could say I’m completely happy.

  23. Allen said on 22 Jul 2006 at 2:19 pm:

My sets seem to be ignoring some of my photos, even though they are properly tagged and meet the requirements I’ve defined for the sets. It was working fine a few days ago, but now some photos are not showing up in the sets even though I haven’t changed the photos at all.

Some thumbnails for my sets also aren’t being generated.

  24. Oblomov said on 22 Jul 2006 at 4:03 pm:

I hadn’t had any problems merging in the first place, however I’ve started getting a better insight of the GeoTagging and SmartSets … you’ve really done an astounding work, especially with the GeoTagging: really super, my congratulations.

The only pet-peevees I’m left with is that the proitizer still doesn’t accept the url to my blog post with zooomr images, and that it’s not yet possible to change the privacy (public/private/friends/family) of a picture.

    Keep up the good work.

  25. Lincoln said on 22 Jul 2006 at 4:09 pm:

It is possible to change the rights to uploaded pictures. You just have to click on the All Rights Reserved, and it changes to a rights dialog box.

  26. Bill said on 22 Jul 2006 at 4:24 pm:

My OpenID is working as before.

    Thank you for your diligence!

  27. J Greenberg said on 22 Jul 2006 at 5:03 pm:

Wow - pretty easy to be “feature rich” when nothing has to actually work. Maybe try slowing down, doing proper qa, offering proper support and get the basics right. This isn’t helping your investors or your chances for a big payday/acquisition - who wants to buy a directory full of half-working scripts?

  28. Allen said on 22 Jul 2006 at 5:49 pm:

I think you should really set up some kind of forum or bug tracker where we can provide bug reports and feedback so you can keep track of everything.

  29. Dustin Brewer said on 22 Jul 2006 at 7:01 pm:

Still seems to be a bug where the WelcomeMat shows private photos from your people in your social circle.
I can see the photos, click them, yet it doesn’t bring me directly to the photo (obviously because it is private).

  30. Kendrick Disch said on 22 Jul 2006 at 8:36 pm:

I’m having trouble uploading photos. I’ve tried various sizes and it doesnt’ matter. Basically it tells me that it worked, but then I look at my photos area and they aren’t there. I’ve tried it a lot of times… I’ll keep trying, but I thought I would mention it. thanks.

  31. Paul Britt Garcia said on 22 Jul 2006 at 9:08 pm:

I still can’t figure out how to edit or delete to redo a Geotag!

When I click the pin icon in the popup I get an error page - I expected a way to retag!

  32. ben stewart said on 22 Jul 2006 at 11:22 pm:

Awesome! You all are making major headway on these issues. I was happy to see all of my photos under one account, but it is the account with the auto-generated URL and I cannot choose the URL that I want because my other (empty) account is still alive and using that URL. Fix?

    Thanks guys.

    Works but not really.

For Example, I can merge the account just fine the first time. But when I signin again with the newly created OpenID, It’s taking me to a different account (I was using Google to merge).

  41. Mario said on 23 Jul 2006 at 11:43 am:

So… step by step for “how it *doesn’t* work”
    1. go to: http://beta.zooomr.com/login
    2. choose “merge your Zooomr account to OpenID” -> http://beta.zooomr.com/merge
    3. choose Google -> login as usual
    4. http://beta.zooomr.com/domerge -> enter the myopenid… login… then it comes out: “Error

Sorry, an error occurred. Please try again later.”

    5. Try later for the same result
    :(

  42. Marcu5 said on 23 Jul 2006 at 2:31 pm:

    Hey!
After entering my TPass for Google I only get redirected to the “Please choose a login provider below to sign-in:”-screen. :(

btw.: The layout looks a bit messy in Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 (which i only use to make websites I design look good even in M$’s newest bulls**t browser!! :P )

One more thing: Would be nice if thumbnails of private photos were treated as private, which would allow to add people to private photos or create SmartSets that contain private photos without the thumbnail being visible to everyone :(

PS: everything else… nice nice nice nice nice!!!!!!1! ;)

  43. Marcu5 said on 23 Jul 2006 at 4:29 pm:

My contacts marked as friends can’t view private photos marked as visible to friends :(

    Feature request:
    - Blinking cursor in foto captions
    - Drag’n'drop personal albums

    Bug report:
In my account settings, when accessing the “get professional” link, I just get a reload of my Account page.

    Otherwise great works guys!

  46. kad said on 24 Jul 2006 at 6:58 am:

Well, it works, at least partially… I can login via merge, but after that, if I login using purely my openid account, it will dump me at the old account. So I have to enter via merge, send my TPass, enter my TPass, enter my openid URL, login in the openid page and then I’m ready to go. That is, I have to login twice :-S
Another thing I have noticed, the “last logged in $date” message in the welcome mat does not update, it displays the date when you signed up, not your last sign in.
You really need a bug tracker :-)

  48. Dustin Brewer said on 24 Jul 2006 at 9:56 am:

    Hello,

Is it possible to merge two OpenID accounts?
I tried zooomr *long* ago. I finally determined I used my LiveJournal OpenID to login. Now I’m using myopenid.com. Here are the steps I’ve taken to merge the account.
    1. Login to LJ.
    2. Login to Zooomr using LJ OpenID
    3. http://beta.zooomr.com/merge
    4. Use myopenid.com to merge accounts.

Stuff starts to happen, but then I get an error page “Sorry, an error occurred. Please try again later.”

Is it simply not possible to merge OpenID accounts?

  49. Rubin110 said on 24 Jul 2006 at 10:16 am:

Hi Kris, sorry to say I’m still having issues logging into my account. rubin.starset.net says “Error retrieving identity URL: No usable OpenID services found for that URL” while logging in with rubin110.livejournal.com promts me to make a new account. Any suggestions on what I can try on my end?

Old Open ID shows my test photo.
    New Open ID didn’t.
I uploaded the test photo a second time and proitized it again successfully.
Most of the tags are double. I have put some of them in the tag form and the picture had IPTC keywords.
IPTC title and IPTC description was not imported.
Editing the tags to delete duplicate through the editing form did not work. Only error
    Editing the title was fine.
Editing the description by adding text with a hrefs did not work. Only error.

I am a little bit disappointed about the quality of bug fixing and the implementation of new features!

Hey guys, first let me say, Great Work! I’d like, however, mention a couple of things I’d like to see:

    1) Ability to change permissions on a photo after uploading.
    2) Better organization features.
    3) Usage of EXIF and GeoTagging info. Many of my photos are already geotagged, using Google Earth. It’d be nice if the info follows the pic, so I wouldn’t have to be geotag twice.
    4) Bulk uploader (I know it will be juploader, but it doesn’t hurt to ask how the process is coming along.

  52. tim said on 24 Jul 2006 at 9:44 pm:

    Oh yeah,

    6) You should be able to choose ftom among the tags you’ve already used when tagging a photo.

I can send it off to someone, just let me know where to email it to.

Any plans on a forum or bug tracker? Or did I miss it?

  56. Jason said on 25 Jul 2006 at 8:59 am:

Not sure where to leave a feature request, so I’ll drop it here for now.

This seems like a no brainer to me, but why isn’t there a “favorites” feature? A way for me to mark photos I really like and would like to view again.

  57. ac said on 26 Jul 2006 at 6:58 am:

    SmartSets issue:
Photos that were once private when added to a smartset seem to take on a sort of semi-public nature. The thumbnails are shown and lightbox will display the image, however once the image is directly clicked on you will not see the image in the photo view page. Since there are no ablums in zooomr I assumed that smartsets were the only way to organize these images, however I wasn’t planning on making them semi-public at all.

  58. Mike said on 27 Jul 2006 at 1:24 am:

Jason - why not just use a “favorites” tag?

Am I the only one who has been unable to use the ‘Rotate 90degree’ feature in zooomr? Rotating doesn’t work in general :(

    (Using firefox)

  62. Navdeep said on 28 Jul 2006 at 6:17 am:

Let me clarify. When I click on a photo to ‘rotate’; it doesn’t change. But then when I click on ‘All Sizes’ to view the pictures; some of the ’sizes’ show the picture in a differen’t orientation.. and some do not.. very weird.

  63. fabio manzoni said on 29 Jul 2006 at 7:18 am:

Cris, there is no option to change the mark private/public of the photos. Can you fix that?

Ah, and if possible: When you are surfing your photos and delete one of them, for example one photo in page 4, you return to page 1, not page 4 where I was. This is annoying if you are deleting many photos… maybe you can fix that to.

And a sugestion, to create some sort of tag editor or tag manager, to mix tags, rename tags of batch of photos, instead of one by one.

    thanks!

  64. Thomas Hawk said on 30 Jul 2006 at 8:37 am:

Hi Fabio, man you are ahead of the curve. Thanks for the suggestions. All of these are in the pipeline and we will be working on them as fast as we can. You are correct in that at present you must choose public or private when you upload and that there is not a way to change it afterwards. You must delete the photo and reupload either public/private. We hope to have a tool to change this on existing photos and via batch tools shortly.
