Exclusive 2.0 Screenshots on TechCrunch

Hi Everyone,

Michael Arrington of TechCrunch has just posted about Zooomr 2. He has included some screenshots of the new SmartSets system that I’ve been developing, so please go check it out.

Let me know what you think,

Oh boy… I liked what Michael had to say about it and when I saw the screenshots of the SmartSets my mouth started watering even more! Thanks again and can’t wait for Zooomr 2!!!

  2. Spinfist Says:

So sets -are- being added into Zooomr 2.0. :-) I might just have to ditch my paid Flickr account for this.

That is, if the login situation is being simplified as well…that’d be really swell. *wink wink, nudge nudge*

  3. moo Says:

I like he slipped the url out. :) I already found it in the google.com/ig xml though. Keep up the grand work. :)

  4. Gareth Says:

Looks fantastic. Smartsets look extremely innovative.

Definitely re-defining the way people think about photos!

Lets hope the professional account option will be available in 2.0.

Ain’t it funny they are hosted on FlickR? :D

    thanks and please answer me..

  7. Dana Says:

    Felipe,
I believe paid professional account will be available when Zooomr 2 is released, which I HOPE will be by the end of June.
    Cheers!

  8. bjpix Says:

when are you going to finally answer questions asked by your users? For example how to change the status of a picture from private to public…
never mind… don’t expect an answer anyways

  9. Kristopher Tate Says:

bjpix, most of the problems with Zooomr will be resolved in Zooomr 2, which would be a better time to ask questions.

Zooomr isn’t made-up of many people, just myself and some people doing technical support, so please be patient with us until Zooomr 2, and then you can start to demand things from us.

Question… Will Zooomr soon have an extension for the Flock browser? If so, i am moving over to Zooomr!

  11. Kristopher Tate Says:

Keith, I know the Flock guys and we were going to do that initially — A lot has happened since then, but I’ll contact them again just for you.

Kristopher, keep up the awesome work. I just found Zooomr today via TechCrunch. I had thought of using Flickr, but I like being part of something up-and-coming and look forward to Zooomr’s growth. Good luck!

  13. Kristopher Tate Says:

Thanks, Toastie — That means a lot.

Kris, I have a suggestion for you, in case you haven’t received this particular one already.

You are looking for a way that a user can import pictures from flickr to zooomr. there is a simple way now as far i can tell. You have heard of Flickr Leech. They have the option of bringing all of the user’s picture thumbnails. Well, if you can make a similar program but to get the original size from flickr instead of thumbnails, and then integrate an import tool for Zooomr. Wouldn’t that work? As far as I can tell, this works with the APIs that flickr has available already..

I’m just throwing out an idea, and don’t really know if it is feasible or not..
