A Glimpse of Zooomr 2 on Google
I hope everyone is enjoying their week! The weather has been pretty spectacular today.
Though, I have a goodie for people to play with until Zooomr 2 shortly arrives. It’s called ZWidget and it utilizes some of Zooomr 2’s new TagMap features and Google’s Personalized Homepage. Here’s what it looks like:

To play with it, simply click on the Add to Google button below!
Enjoy,

VERY cool… so this is just a one-location demo until Zooomr 2 is released? Looking forward to adding my own location to MyGoogle.

It supports all locations, all you need to do is type-in the location on the edit menu
Zooomr 2’s TagMap will also be much more impressive — again, this is merely a glimpse.

i think a great feature to add for zooomr2 would be the ability to geotag multiple pictures to the same place.
Great work…I look forward to zooomr2

Haha… that dang edit menu… it’s almost as if I forced myself to ignore that! Thanks and keep up the great work Kris!

Hm there’s something wrong, setting the location doesn’t seem to work for me … I’m using Opera 8.54 on Windows XP

I did notice that when I entered my city location of “Marquette, MI” it centers about a good hour’s drive ESE of my city. Which is odd because other web apps using Google Maps gets it about where it should be. Only thing I can think of is that Marquette is also the county I’m in, but I don’t think it even reflected the center of Marquette County.
Everything worked fine when I used my zip code instead.

Spinfist, did you try changing the zoom level to region and see if that view looks better? However that’s odd that other Google maps seem to get it right. Hopefully when Zooomr 2 is released we can give it an actual address as well as a city. *hint hint*

@Dana: It doesn’t seem to make a difference. Besides, the region view is way too zoomed out for my smaller town region.
Also, Kris and others, I noticed that as of today, I get prompted for a username and password when I hit my personalized Google page. Would you like a screen grab?

Spinfist: No no, that will be alright, I know what is going on — it should be fixed now, or will be shortly when the cache updates.

I noticed that it’s not prompting anymore. And that’s with the initial version still. All the same, I’m going to update it now. Thanks!

Nope, still gets the wrong location when I type “Catania, Italy” it gets to the middle of the ocean … I think at latitude/longitude 0/0 …

[…] 另外,Zooomr最近还推出了Google个性化的插件。下了一个,总体觉得没有太大用处,尤其一大堆缩小的照片挤在一起,根本看不清。想试的话,点击下面的按钮加入。 […]
