Quotas reset for June!

by Kristopher Tate | 1 June 2006 | General | 13 Comments

Hey Everyone, June looks to be a great month for Zooomr.

I’ve just reset everyone’s quotas to start-off the month as usual and wanted to let everyone know that Zooomr 2 is almost here as well!

Lastly, Zooomr user Chrono has posted his review of the new speed in his blog here. Check it out and then please let me know your thoughts on the new speed, as it would help me a lot!

Thanks,

Kristopher Tate

    Kris,

Excellent news. Really looking for to Zooomr 2!

One question - how can I get a professional account. I’ve got my money ready to pay for it, there isn’t a single link that works on the site which shows me the way!

    Thanks,
    Gareth Hall

It’s nice to see Zooomr back to its original snappy speed, and it definitely helps that I can give people photo links and not be inundated with “it doesn’t work!” or “it takes foreeeeeeeeeever!” :)

Keep up the great work, Kris!

I’m not sure if you would consider this a bug or not, but it certainly doesn’t help people. I have been working on an rss plugin for wordpress so I can display my zooomr images, so a bunch of trackbacks on my images, for example http://beta.zooomr.com/photos/codymays/52133, have trackbacks from localhost. This will obviously not work for anyone else but me.

Anyway, great work. Keep it up.

Cody, interesting find. I did not think about localhost Web servers — I’ll patch the trackback system to ignore requests from ‘localhost’ and ‘127.0.0.1′. It should go into Zooomr 2, because that’s the next schedule release!

Also, thanks for working on a Wordpress plugin, as it helps a lot.

I think I have another one:

Happens any time I try to update a title or description.
Sorry to keep flooding you with this. =P

Totally unrelated, I’m afraid, but I can’t find a logical place where to mail suggestions / questions to.

    Here’s mine then:
If I want to switch from using google to log in to using OpenId to log in.. how do I accomplish that?

A similar question: any way to destroy an ( my) account. (I now got an account for my openId and one through google, and I just want one of them)

Sorry to hijack your blog :)

    No worries, bOR.

We’ve got an upgrade system coming-up in Zooomr 2 — until then, if you wouldn’t mind sending us an email to zfeedback@bbridgetech.com with your account information, I can help you make the switch :)

Thanks Chrono, you’ll definitely understand why the wait is so important.

i had trouble accessing the site for a while yesterday, as it was htaccess protected. what happened there? :o

  11. Cody Mays said on 6 Jun 2006 at 9:22 am:

I can verify that too. For some reason the subdomain ended up on a red hat box running apache with htpasswd protection…

    On a side note:
@Kris: For js caching that works on browsers besides IE and Firefox, a query string in the javascript’s url doesn’t work.

Safari/Opera follow the caching standards and won’t cache them. See this for more info: http://www.thinkvitamin.com/features/webapps/serving-javascript-fast
Just a suggestion, not trying to tell you how to run things (if I am coming across that way).
