LightMap and his dog GeoTag

by Kristopher Tate | 25 January 2006 | Development | 3 Comments

First look at GeoTags Hot on the heels of LightBox comes LightMap and his amazing dog-friend GeoTag on an mission to tag all photos not merely by name but also location — That sounds pretty surreal right? Well, I’m glad to be able to say that I’ve done it. GeoTags are now working.

The Interface to add photos isn’t 100% what I want at the moment, but they are quite usable. More details will come as time passes, just keep a look-out for photos that have a little push-pin. More about LightMap & LightBox to come soon.

The interface is not really easy to understand for the first try, but after it is really nice!

It should be possible to find places by their name, not only by looking for them on the map.

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. – Calvin Coolidge

Still through the dusk of dead, blank-legendedAnd unremunerative years we searchTo get where life begins, and still we groanBecause we do not find the living sparkWhere no spark ever was; and thus we die,Still searching, like poor old astronomersWho totter off to bed and go to sleep,To dream of untriangulated stars.
